1.Becouse the population and economic growth is highly increased recent years, and Taiwan is limited by land and resources, all rivers are unable to drain completely with a natural way. In addition,owing to the change of environment with big densityof rain, it is necessary to promote the management on flood control plan. The main work of this prgram is to administer water resources preservation and complete land utilization.
2.According to the "Chalenge to 2008 Natural Development Plan", it stresses on water resources management, utilization. and activatizing and pays much attention to the recycle utilization for environment protection. Therefore, our investment living environment can be improved and water conservancy and greenbelt can be well constructed.
3.In order to coordinate with our governmental policies, this bureau manage progressively the new land acquisition from rivers within the control area, the allocation public land for utilization construction.
4.Except forest land preservation and civil work construction for slope, the rivers management shall be developed and expanded progressively to its origins for an overall establishment. Therefore, the debris flow can be retrained to assure the security of the down stream in case of flood.
5.Originally, the common rivers and drainage system controlled by the local governmental unit, becouse of being limited by the operating cost and labor, most of them are not programmed and operated. Moreover, due to lacking of water conservancy facilities, the programming. design, and management shall be implemented early to avoid flood resulting in disaster.
6.The work volume of our bureau for current five years is overload and beyond our limitation. However, there are still more service items required with greatest challenge in the future, all members of our bureau shall promoted and manage the business with performance. Our goals are to create an environment of safe, natural, and water resouces management for Yunlin and Chiayi area.
