 Jishuei River streams through ChaNan Plain with its origin from PingLang Hill in QuangZhiLin of Ali Mountains, converges PeiShui River and LiuChung River in upstream and then collects GuiChung River, flows through JaiZhiKang of Sinying City, and finally discharges into sea in NanKungShen.

In Jishuei River watershed the ground water level performs relatively insufficient for water storage function due to low water yields and over drawing out, therefore, improper for water development.

‧Geology:
In mountain area of Jishuei River watershed, gravel terrace without clear stratification is the major geological composition when some are altered layers of shale, fine sand, and medium gravel sand. Soils are mainly composed of brownlatosols and Litholols, when partly of alluvial soil and reddish brownlatosols, and in plain area almost all are quaternary alluvium although with relatively small amounts of quartz silt and sandy clay. 
‧Land use :
Rice is widely planted in Jishuei River watershed, followed by sugar cane, sweet potato, water melon, and muskmelon. Tomato and vegetables are intermission crops in winter. Dongshan Township and Baihe township have their prevailing crops of orange and longan.
